07/23/2007 - Temporary Cable TV Outage for System Upgrades
There will be a temporary cable television outage this afternoon for the following buildings on campus: Talley Student Center, Carmichael Gym, Berry Hall, Becton Hall, Bagwell Hall, Syme Hall, Gold Hall, Wood Hall (A&B), North Hall, Welch Hall.
The outage is necessary to make system upgrades. All services should be restored by 5PM today. If you are still experiencing problems after 5, please call 5-7099, option 1, to report your trouble.

06/19/2007 - Avent Ferry Complex Converting to VoIP
As part of the on-going effort to upgrade our communications network and the telephony services, ComTech will transition analog telephone service in the Avent Ferry Complex on June 27, 2007.
ComTech will transition services to Internet Protocol Telephony (IPT), which is commonly referred to as Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP). The service transition will take place between 6p.m. Wednesday evening and 7:00a.m. Thursday morning. This time period was selected to assure minimal service interruptions.

04/19/2007 - Dabney and Cox Go Wireless
A project was recently completed to provide wireless coverage for mobile computing throughout both Dabney and Cox Halls. These buildings are home to the labs for the Chemistry, Physics, and Statistics departments. They house a variety of classrooms, teaching labs, and research areas. Outdoor areas on all sides of the buildings are also covered.

04/19/2007 - ComTech Decommissioning All Remote Dial Up Access Equipment
On May 1, 2007, ComTech will be decommissioning all remote dial up access equipment as support for the service is no longer feasible. If you are accessing campus resources by utilizing phone numbers 515-6320, 515-3980 or 513-0102, those phone numbers will no longer be operable, as of May 1st.

04/11/2007 - WOLF-TV, Channel 87 on Campus Cable
ComTech is please to announce the new WOLF-TV, channel 87 on campus cable. WOLF-TV is NC State's first station to show student-produced programs, news, shows, and first-run movies.
WOLF-TV will now serve as an outlet for students to display their achievements in video production, music, and photography. Whether the projects have been created in class or students' free-time, WOLF-TV will give students a new voice on campus. With the re-launch of the channel, ComTech is hoping for an increased interest in media production from students and the further development of their production skills.
The first broadcast is scheduled for Tuesday, April 17, at 7PM. Broadcasts will premiere weekly with re-broadcasts done throughout the week during the academic school year. More information is available at the WOLF-TV Web site: http://comtech.ncsu.edu/students/wolftv/index.php
