09/24/2007 - Cable TV Update

For the past several weeks ComTech has been experiencing technical issues with the campus CATV system. During this period we have been working to diagnose the source of the problem. Which, in turn, has resulted in sporadic service interruptions to campus customers. We have found that the signal we receive from Time Warner was degraded(noisy) and have been working with their engineers to correct the problem. We have also been experiencing difficulties with the receivers that allow us to pass the HBO and Showtime channels. We suspect that the two issues may be related. Once this has been corrected we will begin checking the signals in the residence halls and adjusting levels to improve signal quality. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience while we work to improve the CATV service.
