- The Need: In order to properly manage a very large physical infrastructure like the one at NC State, a sophisticated database is needed. An urgent need is to map all horizontal cabling, telecom outlets, building floor plans, and network switch ports.
- Scope: Continue to implement the iTRACS software system along with change management processes to create an accurate and comprehensive picture of the NC State communications infrastructure.
- Status (July 08): Large scale data collection and database loading should begin in August 2008.
